Tri-City received the Sub-Contractor Project of the Year Award from the Gulf Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for its work on the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Parking Garage & Casino Expansion. The project included a major expansion of the Seminole Tampa Hard Rock Casino, comprised of adding 750 new slot machines, 25 new table games and pool deck with an outdoor stage. The project also included a Vegas Style Pedestrian Bridge people mover with memo lighted cases of rock & roll superstars. A total of 96,000 man hours were used by the project’s completion and Tri-City’s combined portion was valued in excess of $8.3 million. Tri-City completed the project on time achieving the highest standards of craftsmanship. Ken Curcio, Senior Project Manager, led the Tri-City team on the job, with assistance from Project Manager Jeremy Chambers and Superintendents John Covich and Jay Stamper. Turner Construction Company was the General Contractor.
The award was presented at the ABC Excellence in Construction Awards banquet held Friday, April 19. Other awards received by Tri-City were: An Eagle Award for the Fort Myers Beach Public Library Addition and Renovation Project and Merit Awards for the I-75 Rest Area Improvement Project and the Pinellas County Judicial Tower 5th Floor Renovation Project.
